Well fellow hip hop heads, we have another treat to look forward to… The never boring realm of artist beef has offered us a gem of sorts.
We have a chance to witness Soulja Boy and Chris Brown duke it out in a sanctioned boxing match. Vegas will not allow the fight, but we might be lucky enough to have Dubai host the brawl. Fingers crossed that someone somewhere will allow this.
As Soulja Boy struggles to cope with his not so tough guy persona in recent months, we have caught him in the midst of an identity crisis. From the posts on IG and Twitter with copious amounts of firearms to the IG live video where he was caught in the “hood” and supposedly challeneged by a passerby, he has found himself in some sticky situations. Not to mention his probation violation that led him to begging a judge for his freedom. SJ Tellum reportedly pleaded for freedom with the judge claiming he was “too small” to go to prison. That among other things would surely have made the “crank that” artist an easy target. Nevertheless, he is now training to fight Chris Brown in the squared circle.
We already know RnB artist Chris Brown has one hell of a right hook. Just ask Rihanna. (Forgive me for that. It is all in fun.) Really, though, Brown is in my mind the hands down winner of this fight. Mike Tyson has stepped up to train Brown, and even dropped a diss track aimed at Soulja Boy. So apparently Brown is in it to win it. I don’t know anything about either artist’s fighting ability, but something tells me Brown has a clear edge. Call it instinct or intuition or call it a flat out guess. Either way, I’d be willing to bet hard earned cash.
Only time will tell how this whole fiasco will play out. Will they find a venue? Will either artist back down? Will they cancel due to issues about money? Your guess is as good as mine. I do hope to allah that we get to see these artists duke it out for several rounds of bloody gritty combat. I think we all deserve it after having to endure the countless viral videos of white people crankin’ dat.
